Providence, RI – The Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) is pleased to announce that they have been awarded a $15,000 grant from Bank of America to support the ARTS Showcase program. Bank of America has partnered with nonprofit and local organizations, business and civic leaders and others across Rhode Island for years as part of its commitment to advancing economic mobility.

They can foster a sense of belonging and act as an engine for the economy. The Providence Performing Arts Center is a great example of an institution that is vital to the health and well-being of the city and region,” said Kevin Tracy, President, Bank of America Rhode Island.

 

Bank of America is committed to strengthening community vitality in Rhode Island and is helping address needs related to small business resiliency and neighborhood revitalization.

 

Joseph W. Walsh, Esq., Chair, PPAC Board of Directors said, “On behalf of the PPAC Board of Directors, thank you to Bank of America for awarding this grant to the ARTS Showcase program. For the 2023/2024 season, over 34,000 elementary and middle school students had the chance to attend or view an educational performance. With this grant, PPAC will be able to continue offering the ARTS Showcase program for the 2024/2025 Season.”

 

PPAC presents live and virtual ARTS Showcase performances created by New England-based and nationally acclaimed touring artists for Rhode Island students in grades K through 8. Showcase performances connect to students’ curriculum through dance, music, puppetry, hip and hop, comedy and more.

 

It is FREE to view and attend PPAC ARTS Showcase performances; however, these performances are not available to the public. Educators who would like to register their students to attend an ARTS Showcase may visit https://www.ppacri.org/outreach/arts-showcase
