Together, we’re making a meaningful impact and working to uplift and strengthen our community.
P.J. Prokop, Director of Marketing at PPAC, said, “We are pleased to collaborate with the Roger Williams Park Zoo and support the real-life animals at the Zoo through this promotion. In LIFE OF PI, the zoo animals are depicted on stage using beautiful, world class puppetry. It is a story about hope, survival and resilience, which matches the Zoo’s mission to save wildlife through conservation and education.”
In Providence, LIFE OF PI is part of the Taco and The White Family Foundation Broadway Series.
The Tony and Olivier Award-winning theatrical event is based on Yann Martel’s best-selling novel. It tells the story of Pi, a young boy who grows up in India, where his family owns a zoo. After a shipwreck in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, Pi survives on a lifeboat with four companions: a hyena, a zebra, an orangutan and a Royal Bengal Tiger.
Told with jaw-dropping visuals, world class puppetry and exquisite stagecraft, the Broadway and West End sensation creates a visually stunning journey that will leave you filled with awe and joy. Martel’s extraordinary story of family, resilience and survival and the natural world combined with Lola Chakrabarti’s brilliantly staged story speaks to every generation.
Critics rave that LIFE OF PI “gives new life to Broadway” (The Today Show) and is “one of the most visually stunning shows I have ever seen.” (Time Out) The global phenomenon was lauded as “an exhilarating evening of theater” (The Wall Street Journal), “a wonder to behold” (Entertainment Weekly) and “the single greatest innovation in puppetry ever to hit the global stage.” (NY Daily News).
