Overview

The Providence Performing Arts Center is thrilled to launch our NEW Teen Ambassador Program for the 2024-2025 season. This education, outreach & engagement program will be a vital leadership opportunity within our arts education programming for high school students. Each month, Teen Ambassadors will be exposed to a different career track in the arts management industry and get firsthand knowledge from industry professionals.

A Teen Ambassador is a 10th, 11th, or 12th grade student who wants to explore various non-performance careers in theatre. Applicants must be a student in Rhode Island or within a 25-mile radius of the Performing Arts Center in Massachusetts. Teen Ambassadors must be enrolled in high school for the entire school year, maintain at least a B (3.0) average unweighted, and have a stellar recommendation.

Goals

As Teen Ambassadors, students will:

  • Develop their leadership, writing, marketing, and communication skills.
  • Learn about the non-profit business model in a hands-on learning environment.
  • Build self-confidence and create a network of peers throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

Duties of Teen Ambassadors

Teen Ambassadors are expected to:

  • Attend monthly meetings at PPAC between November 2024 to May 2025.
  • Attend specified shows, write reviews, and create social media content.
  • Volunteer at events throughout the Providence Performing Arts Center’s 2024-2025 season.
  • Be proactive while responding to emails and be respectful while interacting with theatre professionals.
